How it works

  1. 01

    Choose the interview

Behavioral, technical, case study, system design or a general mix, aimed at a job you've saved or at your experience level.

  2. 02

    Get eight questions

Written from your profile and the job, each with guidance on which of your experiences to draw on. Have them read aloud if you like.

  3. 03

    Answer your way

Type, or speak where your browser supports it. A delivery check updates as you go: filler words, length, STAR parts and specifics.

  4. 04

    Get your feedback

An overall score out of 100, a short assessment, and specific feedback on each answer, including the ones you skipped.

Practice with what you actually did

Generic interview questions prepare you for a generic interview. These are written from your career profile and the job you're going for, so the behavioral questions can be answered with a story from your real history, and the guidance under each one tells you which story.

Nothing is invented. If your profile doesn't mention a project, the questions won't assume you ran one, and the feedback won't credit you with one you didn't describe.

A delivery check you can see while you answer

Once an answer is long enough to judge, you see how it is landing: your filler words and how often they appear, about how long the answer would take to say, which of situation, task, action and result are present, and whether you've given specifics or stayed general.

Every tip quotes your own words back to you, so you can see exactly what to change rather than take a number on trust.

Honest feedback, not encouragement

When you ask for feedback, each answer is judged on relevance, structure and how well it uses your real experience, by an evaluator told to be specific and honest rather than kind. Unanswered questions are marked as missed rather than skipped over.

Preparing for one particular employer? Pro Job Seeker and Executive also include company cheat sheets, with researched facts and their sources, and practice for pre-employment assessments. And if you'd rather be interviewed by a person, the K3 team runs mock interviews for the job you're going for, with written feedback afterwards.

Common questions

Is this a live video interview with an AI?
No, and we would rather say so up front. You get a set of questions for the role, which your browser can read aloud, and you answer by typing or speaking. When you are done you get a score and written feedback on every answer. If you want a real person to interview you, the K3 team offers that as a one-off service.
What kinds of interview can I practice?
Behavioral, technical, case study, system design, or a general first-round mix. Each set has eight questions, and you can aim it at a job posting you've saved or at roles that match your experience.
Are the questions generic?
No. They are written from your career profile and the job, and each comes with guidance pointing at the specific experience or accomplishment you could use in your answer. It never invents projects or skills you haven't listed.
How is my answer scored?
Two ways. While you answer, a delivery check counts filler words, estimates how long the answer would take to say, shows which parts of the STAR structure (situation, task, action, result) are present, and checks whether you gave specifics. When you ask for feedback, each answer is reviewed for relevance, structure and how well it uses your real experience, and you get an overall score out of 100.
Can I answer out loud?
Yes, in browsers that support speech dictation. What you say is written into the answer box, and you can type over it or add to it. In other browsers, type your answers instead.
Which plans include mock interviews?
Every plan includes the role-specific question bank. Interactive AI mock interviews with scored feedback are included in Pro Job Seeker (10 a month) and Executive.
What is the STAR method?
A way of structuring answers to behavioral questions: the Situation you were in, the Task you had, the Action you took, and the Result. Interviewers asking “Tell me about a time when…” are usually listening for all four, and the most common gap is a missing result.
